Our own blended Gingerbread Dough Spice Blend is like the festive scent that fills the kitchen as the first gingerbread cookies bake in the oven. This blend is inspired by ancient recipes , carefully selecting the most valuable and aromatic spices from around the world.The blend contains true spice treasures – cinnamon, ginger, cloves, nutmeg and cardamom , the quality and freshness of which guarantee a full and sophisticated aroma. 🎄 Classic gingerbread dough with our spice mix
Ingredients:
250 g butter
250g sugar
150g honey
2 eggs
750 g wheat flour
2 tsp baking soda
3–4 tsp gingerbread spice mix
Pinch of salt
Preparation:
In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter with the sugar and honey until the mixture is smooth.
Remove from heat, add salt and gingerbread spice mixture .
When the mixture has cooled slightly, stir in the beaten eggs.
Separately, mix the flour with soda and gradually fold into the honey mixture.
When the dough is ready, wrap it in cling film and leave it in the fridge overnight (or at least for a few hours). We leave it in the fridge for up to a month! The spices will blend even more into the dough!
The next day, roll out, press out shapes and bake at 180°C for about 7–10 minutes, depending on thickness.
🍰 Gingerbread cake with dried fruits
Ingredients:
180 g butter
180 g sugar (brown or regular)
3 eggs
250 g flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
3 tsp gingerbread spice mix
100 ml kefir or buttermilk
100 g raisins or other dried fruit
1 tbsp rum or orange juice
Pinch of salt
Preparation:
Pour rum or orange juice over the raisins/fruit and let it swell for 15 minutes.
Beat the butter with the sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, continuing to beat.
Mix the flour with baking powder, soda, salt and gingerbread spices .
Add the flour mixture and kefir alternately to the butter mixture.
Finally, add the raisins/fruit.
Pour the batter into the pan and bake at 170°C for about 50–60 minutes (until a skewer comes out dry).
Cool and serve with powdered sugar or glaze.
