What is it? Mango Sago is a smooth, light and creamy Cantonese dessert that combines coconut milk, soft tapioca pearls and mango puree. Not too sweet, but very refreshing - perfect for a summer treat.
🧾 Required:
6 glasses of water
½ cup small tapioca pearls
1 cup coconut milk
1–2 tbsp honey or maple syrup (optional)
A pinch of vanilla and salt
SWAD Kesar mango puree – to taste
👩🍳 Preparation:
Boil the tapioca: Bring water to a boil, add the tapioca pearls, and boil for 15–20 minutes until they turn translucent.
Rinse: Drain the tapioca and rinse in cold water to prevent the pearls from sticking.
Prepare the coconut base: Pour the coconut milk into another saucepan, add the honey, vanilla and a pinch of salt. Heat until the honey melts.
Mix: Add the cooked tapioca pearls and mix with the coconut mixture.
Cool: Pour the mixture into a container and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
Serve: Serve the cooled tapioca in bowls and top with SWAD mango puree.
Result: A delicate, aromatic and refreshing dessert where the mango flavor stands out in all its glory.
