🥣 Recipe: Classic Dhal Soup with Asafoetida (serves 4)
Ingredients:
1 cup red lentils
3 glasses of water
1/4 tsp asafoetida
1/2 tsp turmeric
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 onion (chopped)
1 tomato (chopped)
2 garlic cloves (chopped)
Salt to taste
1 tbsp. oil
Fresh coriander for decoration
Preparation:
Rinse the lentils and boil them with water, turmeric, and salt until soft (20–25 minutes).
Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard and cumin seeds when they start to crackle - asafoetida, garlic, onion and tomato. Fry until everything turns golden and aromatic.
Add this mixture to the soup and cook for another 3-5 minutes.
Garnish with coriander and serve with rice or chapati.
