Cloves are an aromatic, spicy spice that has been used in both Eastern and Western cuisines for centuries. They are obtained from small clove flower buds that are dried to an aromatic, dark brown color.
Whole cloves retain their strong aroma longer and are great in marinades, stews, hot drinks, and desserts. They can be added whole to soups, curries, or wine to release the flavor gradually.
Ground cloves come from Madagascar – the tropical climate and fertile soil of this island country ensure an intense aroma and high quality. Ground cloves are ideal when you want to quickly and evenly add flavor to food, such as cookies, cakes, curry mixes or hot drinks.
Our whole cloves come from Comoros , a small island nation in the Indian Ocean between Madagascar and Mozambique. Here, the climate, rich soil and long exposure to the sun make the cloves particularly aromatic and of high quality. We import them through a high-quality Spanish supplier , where they undergo rigorous quality and safety checks before being sold.
