Sencha or Japanese green tea is the most popular tea in Japan. It is a green tea with a fresh, green color and makes up more than half of Japan's annual tea harvest. Sencha tea can be enjoyed both cold and warm.
 When the leaves are removed from the tea bushes, they are steamed to strengthen the color and taste. The leaves are then chopped and dried.
